We didn't let the snow stop us doing our 'mile a day' challenge. We wrapped up warm (but soon over-heated!) and put on our wellies to complete our daily mile. It'll take more than snow to stop us, the sun even came out which was a nice surprise!

Fantastic Friday Visitors!
Today we had a wonderful visit from Katie and her mum Sarah! It was so lovely to see Katie again and learn about how much she has changed and developed. We all had questions and found out that she loves to eat almost anything and really enjoys the swimming pool!
We played games with Katie, she loved the picture puzzles and took along her shape toy we bought her last year. She is very good at it!
Katie seemed to enjoy the songs we were singing to her. We read her the story 'Chocolate Mousse for Greedy Goose' and her favourite page was the duck!

Love Food, Hate Waste!
One of the charities we chose for our enterprise project fundraising was Orkney Zerowaste. Part of this charity focuses on reducing wastage in the home and is called the Love Food, Hate Waste campaign. Mary (from Love Food Hate Waste) came along today to show us some examples of recipes which use up left-overs or ideas to help cook meals that will save you money.
Finding ways to use up sausages and sausage meat... meatballs!
They smelt delicious!
The children made sweet chilli meatballs with tomato sauce and spaghetti. They were all delighted with the results and looking forward to getting home and tasting their meals.
We look forward to our 2 sessions next week.
Thank you Mary and Orkney Zerowaste!
Data collectors
We have been learning about gathering and presenting information.
We made Venn diagrams using hoops and items from the classroom.
Red things/blue things
Yellow things/books
Pencils/rubbers
We have looked at various typed of graphs, charts and diagrams that are used to display data.
In class, we chose a topic that we wanted to gather information on. After asking our peers and collating the results, we decided on the type of graph that would be most suitable.
The Market Research Team for Swadge have even made graphs on the laptop to represent some of our findings.

Production in Process!
We are very busy here in P4/5 with our business well under way. We have been typing up recipes and are working hard to get as many completed as we can. We are learning loads about typing and how to use the laptops which is great.

Christmas cheer for the church!
Primary 4 and 5 pupils have been busy creating decorations for our Christmas tree for the church. The song we chose was Rudolph the Red-nosed Reindeer! We each made a little felt Rudolph which was sewn together. Some of us had never sewn before so this was a bit tricky, but also lots of fun.
We kept a small opening at the top to sneak a sweetie in.
We then hung our decorations on our tree at the church.
We are very pleased with how it looks!
Have a look and see if you can spot our tree if you are visiting the church over the holidays!
